Day 4: Aviator Dog
My friend Mallory and i took Ruby to get her first set of shots at the Banfield in Petsmart, and while we were there Ruby wanted to try on a pair of sunglasses. They definitely flatter her.
Day 5: Freckle Belly
I caught Ruby sleeping nestled in the sofa crevice on her back this morning. i just had to get a picture! of course, a soon as the flash went off she woke up. still cute. i am absolutely in love with her little freckle-y belly!

'Til Autumn Comes...
Today is muuuuch cooler than it has been here in texas. the past few days have been in the triple digits. it has been raining all night, so today the air actually has a little chill to it. now all i can think about is fall!
i can't wait to not be disgusted by the thought of HOT coffee. i can't wait to drink hot tea and hot chocolate again.
i can't wait to ride my bike down bike trails with trees with changing leaves all along the sides.
i can't wait to take a blanket and good book to the park by my house. i will just just sit there and read for hours while enjoying my surroundings.
i can't wait to gather up leaf piles and then jump in them like a five year old.
i can't wait to wear cute tights with my dresses.
just hurry up and get here autumn. we are going to get along just fine.

Project 365: Day 3
Yesterday was quite fun. i started off by waking up early and making myself a "sausage" egg and cheese taquito for breakfast, then my buddy larry and i went out for a morning of thrifting. i found a pretty sweet vintage dress, some books and a vintage craft book on crewel embroidery. larry treated me to this fully awesome phone cover...
hahahah! since a recent unfortunate incident involving my blackberry and an unruly dog's mouth, i have been humbled into sporting a razr for the time being. as i was at the cash register of the thrift store, larry was going through a bin of stuff and he found the glittery gold razr cover. he started shouting " hey, check it out! i found the perfect cover for your razor! it goes perfectly with your shoes!" the lady at the register thought he was being serious, so she was like " wow, its meant to be!" thus he bought it for me for a whopping .99 cents, and the rest is history. he was joking with me the rest of the morning about how i can only find my phone's accessories at thrift stores. yes, we are pretty much lame.
you can barely tell, but that's a picture of me modeling my matching phone/shoe ensemble outside of the thrift store.
the rest of the day was pretty fun too. my best friend lindsey and i went to dallas to try to sell some stuff to buffalo exchange, which is like a quirky plato's closet. i brought in two trash bags full of clothes and purses, and they only bought one thing from me! all in all i made $3.25 off of them! i was so offended! lindsey only made $5. so after that we took our pocket change and our defeated selves to the Chuy's in Dallas. Chuy's is a tex-mex restaurant that has food that will change your life! we also had a couple of cocktails to wash away our sorrows. Despite only making $3.25 for what i thought was some pretty legit stuff, i did get a pretty awesome purse, and i had fun with my best friend. it turned out to be a pretty good evening.

Project 365: Day 2
As yesterday was sunday, and thus another busy day with work, my "project" photos aren't very exciting. i am however, excited about the achievement. i finally alphabetized my bookshelf, which is something i have been wanting to do since i moved into my apartment about two and a half months ago. i am completely obsessed with books, and they are one of my many collections. i kept getting so annoyed that i couldn't just walk up to my bookshelf and find what i was looking for right away. so the project begins...
the lighting in my apartment is just awful, so i need to start taking more photos while im out and about.
i thought this photo was cute because you can see ruby hanging out and wondering what the heck is going on.
and ta-da! le finished product! the books are packed on the shelves so tightly! its time to start on another one.
*p.s. the painting on top is one i finished a couple months ago. it has the postal service lyrics " i want to take you far from the cynics in tis town and kiss you on the mouth."

Project 365: Day 1
okay so you have to bear with me here. my weekends are typically pretty uneventful since i work for the majority of them. so my very first photo-to kick this whole exciting thing off is........
.... a photo of a freaking microwaveable veggie corn dog.
haha lame, i know. i have been vegetarian for about a year now, and i thought corn dogs were something that i'd just never have again. i absolutely flipped when i found these in the grocery store. i tried them for the first time yesterday, and oh. my. gosh. are these bad boys amazing! they taste so much like the real thing it made me feel a little guilty. now i am so curious to try other Yves products. they have items such as veggie chorizo- very intriguiging, and also chick'n strips. i wonder if they are any better than the Morning Star ones. i will just have to find out.
well, after posting this, i realized that i really should've started this thing on a Monday!

New Project
I've seen things here and there about Project 365, and i think its an absolutely wonderful idea. it helps you work on your photography skills, you get experience from describing the situation around the photo, and for me, its really just a test to see if i can stick to a little project for that long! (i have a tendency to start many, many things but not finish them.) so i'm gonna do it! woo hoo! first post will be later today!

Wise Words
hello hello!
sorry for the hiatus. i've been so busy trying to wrap up the whole college thing for good! well, at least until grad school... i decided that i would fill this post with little words and phrases that i find lovely .
this next one just seems too true to me. people just get so caught up to the point where they cant find an appreciation for the simple things in life.
as you can see most of them are entirely unrelated, except the fact that they all kind of struck a chord with me. anyways, have a lovely day!
*i've had all of these images saved to my computer for some time, but i believe most of them were found on weheartit.
