Back to Life, Back to Reality

I'm back from my AMAZING time in Portland, and I've been spending the day trying to re-adjust to normalcy. That basically means I've done a little cleaning and a ridiculous amount of sleeping. i cannot even believe how much I fell in love with that city. I mean LOVE!

The first day we got there, our pal picked us up from le airport and we went to get some coffee and devise a game plan.(I couldn't believe how many non-Starbucks coffee shops there were. it was refreshing.) Our game plan was for our friend to drop us off at the train and for us to get lost in downtown. Surprisingly, it all worked out well. We went to the Saturday Market, some random shops, Voodoo doughnut, H&M, and we had dinner. our friend picked us up and we went to a couple bars for the rest of the night.

There were so so many VW vans. I was in lust. I want one so badly!

Voodoo!

On day two, we started of with some more coffee at an adorable little coffee shop, then we went to the Pearl district and did some shopping. Talk about a gorgeous area! I could live there, for sure. We went to Rogue for a couple of beers, went back to downtown, then back to Pearl only to discover that our friend's car had been towed. No bueno. That night we went to a little bar that was just around the corner from our friend's house.
Cargo was the neatest store. I wanted so many things!

Feaverish Photography Blog is an awesome blog that features different Flickr photographers from around the world. So many of the images are gorgeous and inspiring.

*Warning* The site has its fair share of nudie photos (all done tastefully,of course). Nevertheless, if you're not cool with that, I retract my recommendation to check it out.

Really, so so many amazing images!

The blog is maintained by Aaron Feaver, who is a pretty awesome photographer himself. Hurry! Go take a look see!

Pretty Little Places

I just love colorful unique homes that stand out. It seems like the city where I live is becoming over-run with the cookie-cutter style homes. I cant stand them. I'd much rather live in any one of these lovelies.

I think that this is probably the most stinking amazing place I have ever seen! I would live in this baby in a heartbeat!

this looks like a real live doll house. Love it.

As I may have mentioned before, I looove Hello Kitty. I am in complete awe of this house!

I can't believe it! Only 3 more days until I leave for Portland! I can't wait, but I have so so much to get done before then...better get to it.

Rainy Day

It's been so rainy and coooold today! It actually feels like fall! I've just been snuggled up in my bed with Roo and my coffee reading The Catcher in the Rye all morning. I opened my bedroom window so it would be extra cold and so I could hear the rain better. I'm loving it! Now, Ruby is going stir crazy because she won't go outside, and she is about to drive me insane right along with her! Oh, the joys of a puppy...

Halloween came and went rather uneventfully. I had to work Halloween evening. My bestie and I made matching Care Bear costumes for only $10! I must say, I was pretty proud of the result.

I was Grumpy Bear and she was Bashful Heart Bear. We even put the little hearts on our bums!

Earlier in the day, I went to the Farmer's Market that is down the street from my house to get another pumpkin (I thought my other one needed a mate). I planned on carving those suckers, but it never happened, and for that, I am bummed.

I thought the white pumpkins were too neat. I wish I would have gone earlier in the season, so it would have been worth the money to buy one.

I think that this tree that is in front of the Market is my favorite tree in existence. I love how knotty and twisted it is. I like it best when it has no leaves.

I got off from work early enough to see my niece go trick-or-treating. She went as Dorothy, and it was precious! I wish I would've gotten a picture! She kept saying "What about Toto?" to all of the people that were handing out candy. That little girl really knew how to work the system!

After trick-or-treating, I was just too tired to do anything fun, so I just got in bed and read The Bell Jar, by Sylvia Plath. It was really good!

*Odd Confession*: I've wanted to read The Bell Jar ever since I saw 10 Things I Hate About You for the first time! 10 Things is one of my all time favorite movies, and Julia Stiles reads that book in the movie.

Well, I had a different post planned for today, but I suppose I will do that one later tonight. Until then...
