Aren't they just a perfect pair? I love them! I just have to find the right frames to put them in. They'll fit in nicely with the other print I have by her.

This one has a quote from one of my favorite books, Everything is Illuminated.

I seriously LOVE Emily Martin's work. i can't wait to get her book!

I'm going to get one for my neice for Christmas as well. So cute. There are so many amazing prints in her Etsy shop. Go see for yourself!

Back to Life, Back to Reality

I'm back from my AMAZING time in Portland, and I've been spending the day trying to re-adjust to normalcy. That basically means I've done a little cleaning and a ridiculous amount of sleeping. i cannot even believe how much I fell in love with that city. I mean LOVE!

The first day we got there, our pal picked us up from le airport and we went to get some coffee and devise a game plan.(I couldn't believe how many non-Starbucks coffee shops there were. it was refreshing.) Our game plan was for our friend to drop us off at the train and for us to get lost in downtown. Surprisingly, it all worked out well. We went to the Saturday Market, some random shops, Voodoo doughnut, H&M, and we had dinner. our friend picked us up and we went to a couple bars for the rest of the night.

There were so so many VW vans. I was in lust. I want one so badly!

Voodoo!

Miss Lindsey at the river by the Saturday Market.

 Jimi Hendrix

On day two, we started of with some more coffee at an adorable little coffee shop, then we went to the Pearl district and did some shopping. Talk about a gorgeous area! I could live there, for sure. We went to Rogue for a couple of beers, went back to downtown, then back to Pearl only to discover that our friend's car had been towed. No bueno. That night we went to a little bar that was just around the corner from our friend's house.
Cargo was the neatest store. I wanted so many things!

Really, so so many amazing images!

The blog is maintained by Aaron Feaver, who is a pretty awesome photographer himself. Hurry! Go take a look see!

Pretty Little Places

I just love colorful unique homes that stand out. It seems like the city where I live is becoming over-run with the cookie-cutter style homes. I cant stand them. I'd much rather live in any one of these lovelies.

I think that this is probably the most stinking amazing place I have ever seen! I would live in this baby in a heartbeat!

this looks like a real live doll house. Love it.

As I may have mentioned before, I looove Hello Kitty. I am in complete awe of this house!

I can't believe it! Only 3 more days until I leave for Portland! I can't wait, but I have so so much to get done before then...better get to it.

Rainy Day

It's been so rainy and coooold today! It actually feels like fall! I've just been snuggled up in my bed with Roo and my coffee reading The Catcher in the Rye all morning. I opened my bedroom window so it would be extra cold and so I could hear the rain better. I'm loving it! Now, Ruby is going stir crazy because she won't go outside, and she is about to drive me insane right along with her! Oh, the joys of a puppy...

Halloween came and went rather uneventfully. I had to work Halloween evening. My bestie and I made matching Care Bear costumes for only $10! I must say, I was pretty proud of the result.

I was Grumpy Bear and she was Bashful Heart Bear. We even put the little hearts on our bums!

Earlier in the day, I went to the Farmer's Market that is down the street from my house to get another pumpkin (I thought my other one needed a mate). I planned on carving those suckers, but it never happened, and for that, I am bummed.

I thought the white pumpkins were too neat. I wish I would have gone earlier in the season, so it would have been worth the money to buy one.

I think that this tree that is in front of the Market is my favorite tree in existence. I love how knotty and twisted it is. I like it best when it has no leaves.

I got off from work early enough to see my niece go trick-or-treating. She went as Dorothy, and it was precious! I wish I would've gotten a picture! She kept saying "What about Toto?" to all of the people that were handing out candy. That little girl really knew how to work the system!

After trick-or-treating, I was just too tired to do anything fun, so I just got in bed and read The Bell Jar, by Sylvia Plath. It was really good!

*Odd Confession*: I've wanted to read The Bell Jar ever since I saw 10 Things I Hate About You for the first time! 10 Things is one of my all time favorite movies, and Julia Stiles reads that book in the movie.

Well, I had a different post planned for today, but I suppose I will do that one later tonight. Until then...

Etsy Love: Feeling Foxy

I figured I'd share some sweet Etsy finds that are related to...yep, you guessed it, Foxes!

First is the cutest little fox tank found at dark cycle clothing.

Next is an adorable foxy picnic print found at Paper Sparrow.

Liam from Sleepy King just might have to come live with me.

I'm in love with this coin purse from One Little Red Fox.

Uh-maaazing wooden panel found at My Azaria.

The Duke of NY print from Matte Art is super unique. I love all of his illustrations.

These are just a few of the cute foxy things I've found. There really are just too many to share them all! Miss Roo and I are off to the park for a good ol' game of fetch. Have a lovely day!

Bed Head

Lately I've had the urge to re-do my bed to make it a more comfortable place to hang out. Right now it's pretty basic- a bed with a blanket and a couple of pillows. Unacceptable. A person should think that their bed is the most confortable place in the world, shouldn't they? Here are some cozy spaces that I'm finding inspirational.

I have to admit that I am liking the mismatched spaces more than the more polished ones. They just seem more inviting. I love the idea of hanging something that will allow me to make my bed into an instant fort. I bought some white twinkle lights the other day to hang around my bed. Time to go get started!

Howl

Howl comes out tomorrow, and I am just so stinking excited to go see it! I love James Franco, and I have been fascinated with Allen Ginsberg and the whole beat generation since Junior year of high school. It also has Don Draper from Mad Men in it, which is a bonus.Check it out for yourself.

It's going be so so good! I just know it.

As of Late

Today is my first day off after seven consecutive days of working, and it feels wonderful! I have so many plans for today, I hope I can fit it all in... Right now, I'm listening to Tom Waits on the new record player I got last week and drinking coffee with some amaazzzing pumpkin pie spice creamer in it. I feel like I have been neglecting this blog because I have just been so busy with work that it has pretty much drained me. There were a few things I was going to post about, but I couldn't find the energy, so now I am just going to jumble it all into one random post. Fun!

First off, last week I took my adorable niece to the park for a picnic!

I told her we could eat anything in the world that she wanted on our picnic, and of course, she chose McDonald's chicken nuggets. Haha! what is up with kids and McDonald's? I just don't get it.

She colored in a Hello Kitty coloring book that i had on hand. What? I don't care if i am in my mid-twenties, I love Hello Kitty, and I still like to color. I read my book Magical Thinking by Augusten Burroughs, which I recently finished. Interesting...

After the picnic, we went over to the playground and played for about an hour. Fun times.

Uh oh, something came up. I'll finish this post very soon...

Okay I'm back. I had a small family emergency, so this day did not go according to plan...at all. Oh well, I still got to take Miss Roo to the dog park, and I made some pretty incredible "faux"jitas for dinner. This was quite a feat beacuse I am in no way shape or form anything close to a cook.( I'm trying to change that.)

In other news, I did end up dyeing my hair red, but it was a home job ,and more subtle than I was hoping for. It's definitely red though. next time around I will make it a little more dramatic. Baby steps...

I went back to the state fair. The second time around I did not have one single bite of an exciting fried concoction, but I rode some rides including dun dun dunnnnnnn.....the ferris wheel!

Here's a picture of the view!

This is a picture of the midway. I didn't take as many pictures the second time around...I kept forgetting.

Last, but certainly not least....I'm going to Portland next month!!!  I'm so so excited! I haven't been anywhere in a loooong time. My best friend and I are going, and we are going to be staying with a friend while we are there. I really think that Portland is the kind of city that I could eventually live in. It's going to be so fun!

I apologize for the randomness of this post, but I just wanted to fit it all in!

Oh, and Ruby Roo says Hi.

Hahah! This is post-bath, so she isn't a very happy little lady!
